New Years Habits December 12, 2006

Posted by The Probabilist in : [News], Health, Goals, Personal Growth, Responsibility , trackback

This entry presents not only the changes I’ll be making for the coming year, but also the overall habits I have chosen to ignore or adapt. It was sort of a checklist I had written in my journal as I noticed that I should take all the habits I can think of under consideration.

  • Drugs: None, never have.
  • Medication: None, using ETF on pollen allergy this Spring.
  • Alcohol: None after year end, previously 1-2 times per month.
  • Gambling: None, broke this addiction in my mid teens.
  • Nicotine: None, never have.
  • Caffeine: None, have drunk about one cup in my whole life.
  • Vegan diet: Pending, haven’t made the choice to convert yet.
  • Polyphasic Sleep: Starting at year end.
  • Exercise: Mostly jogging, still requires a systematic schedule.
  • Task schedule: Starting at year end.
  • Financial statements: A year now.
  • Intuition: Progressively, fuzzy subject and can’t be systematized.
  • Reading: A book per week, recently started.
  • Listening: An hour of personal development audio per day.
  • Writing: Journaling/blogging covers this.
  • Public speaking: Toastmasters in 2007.

It’s that time of the year so make a similar list for yourself to address what you think and feel is important to improve in your life. A great way to make the habits interdependent and congruent with each other is to make a task schedule that takes several of them into account. Stay tuned for my entry on polyphasic sleeping as I’ll enclose a spreadsheet of my schedule, which includes other habits that require persistency.
